1. How much do you charge?
We can't quote rates over the internet, because every single event is unique.
Please give us a call or email and we'll be glad to discuss your specific needs.
2. Can you learn a special song for us?
If it is something our musical instrumentation can accomodate, we will try our best to perform a special song for your special event!
3. Are you registered with any music agents?
No. To save you overhead, GaiaTaiko is currently not registered with any agent.
4. Can we come and see you play before booking?

5. Can we make tentative booking?
Yes, we will contact you if someone else wants the date that we are
"holding" for you, and always give you first option to book
6. Can you play CD's if provided?
Yes
7. Can you recommend other acts?
Yes, we network with several other acts and will recommend the most appropriate.
We have a partnership with a popular Jazz Lounge Band here in Las Vegas called the Thurston Howlies
8. I want to be pretty particular about what kind of music is played, can you guys work out a specific set list in advance?
Yes. We can discuss specific songs to play for your event and get to as many as your event time allows.
9. We would like to make special announcements and/or presentations during our event. Can you provide a mike for us?
At every gig we will provide you with a professional P.A. system and microphone(s) and stand(s).
10. Do you have a demo CD?
No. But we are currently working on a demo DVD.
11. Do you host functions?
Yes, several of our performers are also professional Masters of Ceremonies.
12. Do you let people sing on the stage with the band?
No, there is valuable equipment on the stage, however, from time to time we may allow the use of a remote microphone for use by trained or professional singers

17. Can you provide sets or decorations?
We are not a professional decorating company, so we recommend hiring someone to do your party decorations.
However, for some special parties, we have provided things that go along with the band's theme the guests.
18. Is it more expensive to book you during summer or on weekends?
Live music is usually more in demand during summer, on weekends and on holidays, so yes, our rates may be adjusted accordingly.
19. Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we require 50% to secure any private direct booking
20. Do you select your set prior to a function?
No, we always wait until we have seen the audience/guests/functional requirements.
21. Does it cost extra for additional time?
Yes, we charge an additional rate/per/hour for all direct bookings.
22. Have you ever played at any festivals?
Yes, we have played at a number of festivals, please see our Clients for more details.
23. Can you travel?
Yes. We can travel. We have traveled for other gigs before. We can put together a budget that includes all travel and backline needs.

25. When do you show up?
Depending on how difficult the load-in is, we will show up anywhere from an hour to half hour before your event begins in order to make sure we are setup and ready to start right on time.
26. How long do you play?
Most events are 3-4 hours in length. Typically people don't want to hear drums the entire time. So we can play for as short as a quick impressive burst of sound.
Or we can play a longer set broken up with world music for as much of that as the schedule will allow, approx. 30-40 minute sets.
27. How long have you been performing in the music industry?
Collectively the ensemble has over 30 years combined experience. Gaia Taiko has been performing together for 3 years.
28. What makes your band better than others?
We provide a full professional service from start to finish, we also consult and recommend quality entertainment solutions where possible.
29. What sort of music do you play?
Asian and Japanese theme drum and rhythmic percussion as well as world music beats and sounds.
30. How much notice do you need for a booking?
As much as possible, we sometimesbook up to about 12 months ahead. But last minute scheduling is often possible...
31. When do you require payment for a performance?
Prior to the completion of the performance
32. What forms of media do you use on stage?
CD, Mini-Disc and Cassette
33. What happens if a patron damages your equipment?
We encourage event insurance. All terms will be clearly spelled out in your contract.
34. What happens if we cancel our booking?
You lose part or possibly all of your deposit. All terms will be clearly spelled out in your contract.
35. What is your minimum booking fee?
This varies depending on the location, length and type of function.
